Setting up G2 Companion Go

About 10 minutes, once. You need your G2 glasses, your Android phone and the licence key from your receipt email.

1. Activate the app

1. Install G2 Companion Go from Even Hub in the Even app, and open it.
2. On the phone screen, paste the licence key from your receipt email and tap Activate.
3. The setup message on the glasses goes away (tap once to show the clock and weather). Tap Send a test to my glasses on the phone: a test message should pop up on the glasses within about 10 seconds.

2. Send your notifications to the glasses (MacroDroid)

Apps on the glasses can't read your phone's notifications, so the free app MacroDroid passes them on. One macro covers texts, WhatsApp, email and calendar reminders.

1. Install MacroDroid from Google Play and open it.
2. Tap Add Macro and name it G2 glasses.
3. Trigger: Notification → Notification Received → choose your messages app (Google Messages or your phone's own), WhatsApp, Gmail (or your email app) and Google Calendar. Allow Notification Access when asked. If offered, tick ignore ongoing notifications.
4. Action: Connectivity → HTTP Request. Method POST, and this address:https://auroraglance.com/notify
5. Body type text/plain. For the body, paste your phone code (copy it from the G2 Companion Go phone screen), then type ~|~, then use the … button to insert Notification app name, type ~|~, insert Notification title, type ~|~, insert Notification text. It ends up like this:g2c_YourPhoneCode~|~{not_app_name}~|~{not_title}~|~{not_text}
6. Save the macro, then send yourself a text or WhatsApp to try it.

3. Stop the phone switching MacroDroid off

Many phones (especially Xiaomi, Samsung and OnePlus) put background apps to sleep, so messages arrive late or not at all. For MacroDroid:

1. Settings → Apps → MacroDroid → Battery: set to No restrictions (or Unrestricted).
2. Xiaomi: also turn on Autostart, and lock MacroDroid in the recent-apps screen.

Using it

• Tap (ring or glasses): show or hide the clock and weather page. In a menu: choose.
• Long press or swipe: open the menu. Swipe: move up and down.
• Double tap: go back. On the clock page it asks whether to close the app.
• News: choose your news source on the phone screen first.
